Benchtop glass lathe (pedestal grinder)

This machine designed to be a benchtop glass lathe or a pedestal grinder. The shaft is 1″ diameter which is to accommodate diamond grinding wheels made for the US market.

When bolted to a bench this can be run from a 1/4 hp (.19 kw) electric motor or larger.

All bearings, housings and shaft are brand new. Motor and shields not supplied.

Base 340mm x 200mm. O/all 440mm high. Shaft total 450mm with 190mm exposed.

Weight is 10kg and with the shaft separate will pack down to 440 x 340 x 200mm.

The other end of the shaft has a 16mm threaded hole in end to allow for other uses. This comes covered by a rubber plug.

Finished in durable 2-pot rustproof coating.

Expanding drums, 6″ x 2.5″

Expanding drums are useful for lapidary or glass work. They are designed for a variety of belts from garnet and silicon carbide to electoplated diamond or resin coated diamond. Expansion slots through the heavy rubber rim allow the drum to expand when rotated, locking the belt in place. Belts can be quickly changed by stopping the machine, slipping of the old one and sliding on the new. The resilient drum surface flexes to the gemstones contour to quickly remove grinding flats. The convex shaped drum provides the cutting action necessary to remove scratches. Sold without belt. 1″ center hole with a set of bushes.

Recommended maximum speed is 1800 RPM.

Caution; Do not run without a belt on, do not use diamond belts without water.

Sandblasting gun. Standard low-tech venturi siphon type. Can be used straight from a bucket. Complete in blister pack with intake hose and spare ceramic tip. Will work with a 12-16 cfm compressor. Replacement tips are available.

These are a standard low-tech venturi type sandblasting gun. They have one metal tip and come with four extra ceramic replacement tips. These are ideal for sandblasting booths, but can also be used straight from a bucket with the use of a sand intake hose. (Not supplied) The price is for five guns.
